One Ocean, Four Boats and 100 Rock and Metal Bands: Music-Themed Cruises

Deck from the MSC POESIA, Shiprocked Cruise ship.

Searching for a rockin’ musical getaway? Grab your swimsuit and a life vest because it seems the sea is where you will find many hot bands from the past and present.  I’ll grant you, the cruise industry isn’t exactly beacon of trust, highlighted by the Italian cruise disaster earlier this year, but this hasn’t stopped several bands from joining special music cruises. And there are more cruises available than you might think.

By chance, I stumbled onto the Barge to Hell cruise. In a moment of curiosity, I searched to see if there were other similar adventures. Low and behold, there are several rockin’ adventures to choose from in the next several months (in 2012 and 2013).

Monster of Rock Cruise

Based on a legendary rock festival at Castle Donington, Leicestershire, England, the Monster of Rock Cruise, scheduled from March 16 – 20, 2013, will feature bands from the 70s & 80s. Cruisers will embark from Fort Lauderdale, Florida and head to CocoCay and Nassau, Bahamas.

Confirmed bands include: Tesla, Kix, Y&T, Great White, Helix, XYZ and Enuff z Nuff

Along with plenty of southern-inspired tune, shipmate will have access to a bowling alley, climbing wall, and several other activities.
