As a longtime fan of Twisted Sister (I was seriously obsessed as a teen), I was pretty excited to learn that Hornitos® Premium Tequila announced the launch of its second annual Mariachi Mash Up music video and consumer sweepstakes to celebrate the upcoming Cinco de Mayo holiday.  This year, Hornitos will rock out with a Mariachi twist to “We’re Not Gonna Take It.”

Ever wanted to jam with Twisted Sister?  Now is your chance. Hornitos is giving tequila fans the opportunity to enter into a sweepstakes for a chance to win a role in this year’s mariachi mash up video. The band released a video to announce the sweepstakes and partnership via the Hornitos Facebook page and YouTube channel.

The sweepstakes runs from March 1 until March 31, 2012, and the winner will be announced on or around April 2, 2012. You MUST be 21+ years of age to enter the sweepstakes. The lucky guy or gal and a guest will win a trip to New York for the once in a lifetime opportunity to rock out with Twisted Sister as Dee Snider and the boys mash up “We’re Not Gonna Take It” with guitarróns, maracas and mariachis.

“Twisted Sister is ready to rock and go Horns Up with Hornitos Tequila!  We can’t wait to take one of our biggest hits and give it a little Mariachi flavor to create this year’s Cinco de Mayo anthem- you’re definitely going to keep it on repeat all night,” said Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider.

The 2nd Annual Mariachi Mash Up follows the success of last year’s inaugural Mash Up featuring the classic rock band Cheap Trick.  To celebrate Cinco de Mayo 2011, Hornitos Tequila partnered with Cheap Trick to remix their anthem “Surrender” in the style of mariachi.  Watch last year’s video below.

Disclosure:  The PR agency I currently work for has a business relationship with Hornitos, Sauza and Beam Global, its parent company. However, we had no involvement with this program.  Although my employer has a relationship with Hornitos, this post represents reflects my personal view as longtime Twisted Sister fan.
