This week’s Dancing with the Stars finale featured fantastic freestyle dances by Rob Kardashian and JR Martinez.
Rob and partner Cheryl Burke danced to “Minnie the Moocher”. The band played a version by the Blues Brothers, although the song was made famous years ago by Cab Calloway. To create the atmosphere of a jazz club, a pianist and trumpet trio played front and center on the floor. I always love when the Harold Wheeler Band plays big-band tunes. It gives them the opportunity to show off their chops.
JR and partner Karina Smirnoff danced to “Whine Up” by Kat DeLuna. The band kicked the energy in the ballroom into high gear with the pounding Latin beat of this tune.
