Between a new band and new album, Slash is having a good year. And considering the guitarist’s history with Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver, Slash has certainly produced some nice tunes over the years. Now the rocker is set to launch his virtual radio station, Slash FM on A.P.E. Radio.
Today’s announcement came on West Hollywood’s “Slash Day”, which happens to be today, August 26th. The day will honor the guitarist at the third annual Sunset Strip Music Festival. The August 26th tribute event at the House of Blues Sunset Strip will include speeches from Slash’s close friends, a presentation from the City of West Hollywood, and live music performances celebrating Slash and his contributions to the legacy of the city’s rich music scene.
“Slash FM” will launch on September 2nd will broadcast the guitarist’s favorite songs from bands such as AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, The Beatles, Metallica and more. Plus, the station will include music from GnR and material from Slash’s new solo album. If only we could all curate our own radio station. Oh wait, we can. It’s called Pandora.
Slash’s A.P.E. station will be distributed across Clear Channel Radio’s “iheartradio” network. Fans are encouraged to participate by emailing their suggestions to email@example.com.
Immediately following the Sunset Strip Music Festival, Slash will embark on his North American tour.
