Don’t Miss the Last Two Concerts in Millennium Park’s Dusk Variations Series August 16 and 23rd

For the second season, Millennium Park is hosting the popular Dusk Variations Series in the Jay Pritzker Pavilion. These concerts explore the intersection of classical and pop genres and their coexistence with elements of classical music, electronic, folk, pop, and rock. The first two concerts included music by Portland Cello Project (August 2) and Victoire (August 9).

Lost in the Trees will perform at the third concert concert on Monday, August 16 at 6:30 PM. Headed by composer and songwriter Ari Picker, the group merges symphonic elements of classical music with the accessibility of American folk and modern pop.

The Brooklyn-based chamber group Clare and the Reasons will perform on Monday, August 23 at 6:30 PM. Fronted by Clare Manchon and Olivier Manchon, the band combines orchestral pop with a swing string section. The band’s intricate chamber pop combines folk-pop, Philip Glass, Cabaret, and the Beach Boys.

The Dusk Variations Series is presented by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Millennium Park, with support from WBEZ Radio and vocalo.org. Admission is free. For more information, please go to www.millenniumpark.org, call 312-742-1168, or find Millennium Park on Facebook.
