NPR New Show – Alt.Latino Talks Music and Soccer, and Interviews Juanes about World Cup 2010

NPR kicked off a new show – Alt.Latino – hosted by Jasmine Garsd and Felix Contreras yesterday.  The show is dedicated to talking about the different sides of Latino music and music inspired by Latin America.

Appropriately, the first show was dedicated to talking about soccer.  After all, the World Cup is in full swing after kicking off last Friday. During the first episode, Garsd and Contreras talked about some interesting songs by Mano Negra, Manu Chao, Athena, Maldita Vecindad, Jorge Ben, and The Hitchers.

In addition, the duo interviewed Columbian singer Juanes, who performed during the opening ceremony of the world cup.
