Unless you’ve been living in an alternate universe, you’ve probably heard that 88-year-old actress Betty White was hilarious this weekend as the host of Saturday Night Live. Best known for her roles on The Golden Girls and The Mary Tyler Moore Show, White’s SNL appearance happened thanks to a grassroot movement on Facebook.
My favorite skit was the parody of The Golden Girls theme song, “Thank You for Being a Friend”. The sketch began with cast members singing a loving rendition of the theme song. Then, White whipped out a black ski mask and did a metal hard-core version, while leather-clad, chain-wielding tough guys attacked the SNL cast members.
Unfortunately, I haven’t found an embeddable version of the video. The digital short is the only skit from Saturday’s show which has not yet appeared on SNL’s website. However, you can check out the video on the Huffington Post.
