It is always nice to see rockers coming together to support those in need, especially at-risk youth.
Slash is joining forces with Ozzy Osbourne, Perry Ferrel, Chester Bennington, Dave Navarro and several others to help raise money for the Las Angeles Youth Network (LAYN). The concert will be take place at the Avalon in Hollywood on November 22, 2009 (next week!) and will be hosted by George Lopez.
This sounds like an awesome show for an amazing cause. Founded in 1984, The Los Angeles Youth Network (LAYN) is a not-for-profit agency whose mission is to end homelessness one kid at a time, by providing shelter, food and counseling for the abuse, neglected and abandoned. LAYN’s mission is to help homeless adolescents become self-sufficient. Some of the activities LAYN does includes providing night shelter for youth 12-17, HIV/AIDS education, providing food, clothing and transportation, substance abuse prevention, to name a few.
Tickets prices are as follows: $85 GA, $115 Reserved GA, $500 VIP Experience. To purchase tickets (or make a donation) go to www.laynrocks.com, where tickets are exclusively sold. Best of all, 100% of the profits benefit the Los Angeles Youth Network.
VIP tickets, which include pre-concert dinner, private silent auction, balcony seating and after-party, will give fans a once in a lifetime experience with numerous opportunities to meet musicians, bid on signed items and celebrity experiences, and attend exclusive after-party events hosted by SLASH.
It’s a bummer I don’t live in LA, but I would encourage anyone in LA to attend. I know I would. Of course, if you live elsewhere and find this organization worthy, I am sure LAYN would appreciate any kind of donation!
If you do go, please share how the show went.
