Cancer is a silent killer. When you least it expect and without knowing, the disease will strike and if not caught in time has the potential to end life quickly. Who hasn’t been affected by cancer in one capacity or another? Either you know of someone who has died of cancer, or of someone who is currently in remission, or you are struggling with a form of the disease right now. Both of my grandfathers died from esophageal and lung cancer. My living grandmother had surgery to remove some skin cancer two weeks ago and my mother has to undergo testing to make sure breast cancer doesn’t emerge because of growths. Fighting cancer is personal.
So, when I saw a question posted by Jeff Caswell on LinkedIn requesting authors to participate in a project to raise money to fight cancer, I just knew I had to do it. I didn’t know who else would participate, but it is a tremendous honor to join other social media gurus such as Gavin Heaton, Anne Handley, and Drew McClellan.
Although, I haven’t spoken to the authors about their interest in participating, but I hope it is with same passion and desire that I have, which is to do what we can to fight cancer – in this case breast cancer.
Is this a sale pitch? Yes, but for a good cause. Hopefully, a cause we all want to fight against and learn something new along the way. The Project 100 was designed specifically to raise money for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Connect!: Marketing in the Social Media Era by Project 100 was inspired by the Age of Conversation series of books. The project consists of one hundred marketers discussing social media marketing in about 400 hundred words. The book is $19.95 plus shipping and handling with all profits will go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Please join me in fighting breast cancer by purchasing a copy of Connect! at Blurb
