Big Change: Moving Soon and The Groove Network

I haven’t been around for the past week, but I have a good reason.  I have taken the plunge and decided to move away from was taken by some stupid cybersquatter, so contrapuntist will become  This also means, I have a hell of a lot to do, so writing might be touchy feely with the holidays right around the corner.  I know diiddly about web design, and even less about blog design, so I bought the mother of all “Dummies” books that includes everything you want to know about HTML, XHTML, and CSS.  Needless to say, I have a ton to learn, and a lot to do before I fully transfer over to my new site.  I also decided to use  It seemed like the best option for my hosting needs, and they have a great rate going at the moment as well.

What led me to make the change?  Well, I was approached by a fellow music blogger, Noise Addicts, to join a music blog network: The Groove Network.  Unfortunately, doesn’t give me the flexibility I’ve wanted for a while, and the rest of the network has added a bar that links to other members in the network.  I’ve been following Noise Addicts for a while now, and it really is a great blog.  I am also honored and thrilled to help build a network.  While this opportunity wasn’t the main reason for moving, it certainly helped me decide to take the plunge and make a permanent move.  It is something I have been considering for some time, since before I actually started blogging. We all have to start somewhere, and has worked just fine.

More news coming soon, but in the meantime, I will leave you with this tidbit.  Checkout, which is a newly launched music discovery engine.  Seems pretty cool so far.  I played with it a bit while it was in Beta, with some interesting results.  You can add to Facebook, MySpace, and iTunes.

  1. Excellent choice on the migration. Let me know if you have any questions about your redesign. You may run into some stumbling blocks which require a super simple answer and will waste a hell of alot of your time for what it’s worth. Good luck and keep up the excellent blogging!
